red wagons
we could ride to the sunset
on our banana seat bikes
or pull the red wagon
and fly homemade kites
no suits or paper
or jaded black ties
no meetings or faxes
or plastic wrapped smiles
yesterday seemed better
more lighthearted rain
snow in the summer
and a chase of the train
but who is to say
and who ever wrote
were worse off today-
all in the same boat
would you take off your shoes
and run a quick mile
through soft sparkled sand
laughing the while
what stops you from seeing
that life is a dance
the embrace of sweet lovers
in the game of romance
can we open our eyes
and run out the door
just to live what were given
with wings we will soar
from my brain and from my hand....
